Lonely Planet review for Vinnie Van GoGo's
Okay, so the joint is cramped. And the ordering process can be intense. But the New York-style pizza rocks hard, with crust about as thin as a dollar bill.

The Best Pizza in Savannah
othaptus recommends this,
Vinnies is worth the problematic circumstances that often arise when eating there; it's cramped, the outdoor patio area is right next to a road, and, most damningly, it's a "cash-only" establishment.
However, after putting your name on the list and traipsing among the crowded diners, seated on aluminum chairs around a hodgepodge of various tables, you can sit back and watch the dough tossed into the air by the chefs, sip your coke from the tall, red plastic glass it was brought to you in, and wait for the best pizza in Savannah.
It's crispy and thin-- attributes hard to find in a pizza so far from New York. The crust is bubbly and chewy, the slices are large. And the price is right; under $10.00 per person. Although most locals order out (to cut down on the often lengthly wait) you can be assured you're getting a real Savannah experience; Vinnie's is situated on one of the oldest squares in the city.
