Visible from all over the city thanks to the country's second-largest statue, the nearby Vulcan Park offers fantastic views for free, and an observation tower.

    Great place for a picnic!

    nikikru recommends this,

The Vulcan Park is a great, CLEAN place to visit if you are in the area. Make sure to call ahead to check times and prices because they do change. While the park itself is open for free going up into the statue and visiting the museum does cost around $8 ...i think. The park itself has a great view of the city and has mounted binoculars and a few tables and chairs so it could be a fun free trip anyway. To get to the observation platform you can take a glass elevator or climb the flights of stairs. For the people afraid of hights, like me, the stairs are the way to go because they are closed off; not the old fashioned open spiral. The museum is informative and modern; great for kids. There aren't any covered areas outside so make sure to be prepared if it's forecasted to rain. Good place to bring a soccor ball or a frisbee :)
