Louisiana Arts & Science Museum
The Louisiana Arts & Science Museum houses interesting arts and natural-history installations and offers planetarium shows. If you just want a good stretch of the legs, there's a pleasant pedestrian/bike path along the Mississippi River, stretching 2.5 miles from the downtown promenade to LSU.

The art-deco skyscraper looming over town is the Louisiana State Capitol on aptly named State Capitol Dr. Built at the height of the Great Depression to the tune of $5 million, it's populist governor 'Kingfish' Huey Long's most visible legacy. The 27th-floor observation deck has a great view.
