Flying Biscuit Café

Despite the moniker, it's not only the delicious clouds of doughy goodness that keep me coming back to the Flying Biscuit for more.  It's the fact that you can taste true southern style hospitality in every dish.  Well, that and the fact that their breakfast sausage is so good it tends to make me a little stupid every time I have it.

The decor is as warm and eclectic as the wait staff.  You can gaze at fields of sunflowers basking under a sky full of flying saucers and winged biscuits while your server makes certain your glass of sweet tea is never empty. 

The menu is diverse, vegetarian-friendly and practically every dish comes with one of their famous biscuits and cranberry apple butter.  Breakfast is served all day, but all of the meals are well done.  Favorites include shrimp and grits, turkey meatloaf and pudge and Coca-Cola glazed salmon salad.  The oven fried chicken with collard greens and fried mac 'n cheese has been known to make my husband cry.  And if the Love Cakes (black bean cakes smothered in tomatillo salsa) have made me tear up too, I'll never admit it. 

There's a wide variety of menu choices, not just breakfast items. Think Waffle House, but much more upscale and a little pricier. My favorite is the multigrain pancakes. Lunch at the Flying Biscuit in Buckhead can get awfully crowded and noisy with people from the surrounding office buildings. The location in Midtown may be a more enjoyable atmosphere. It's a great place to go with friends.

This is one of the coolest places to eat Atlanta has to offer! Seriously a must if visiting!
