Lonely Planet review
A key corner Riverwalk location makes this mega hotel quite entertaining. Local jazz legend Jim Cullum plays (and records a radio show) at his in-house, riverfront Landing club. Tons of other bars are closer than crawling distance.
During conventions and events all 632 rooms at the Hyatt tend to fill up. Book a private dinner (or just peak into) the Lonestar Palace and you have an eye-level view of the famous Alamo church façade. From the rooftop pool (one of the few outdoor pools in town that is heated) you'll see the sweeping skyline views of San Antonio all year round. Masculine rooms flex their muscles with sleek lines, chocolate leather and sturdy desks. Be warned, extra costs like parking and wi-fi add up. But then you're paying to stay squarely between the Alamo and the Riverwalk.
