    Lonely Planet review

Not unlike the famed Colombe d'Or in Provence (no relation), this guesthouse offers beautifully designed rooms and an excellent French restaurant. Each of the five exquisite, one-bedroom suites were inspired by the colors and styles of a great artist – Cezanne, Van Gogh, Renoir. Suitably so, as the rare oil paintings and antiques decorating this 1923 Montrose mansion are museum quality.

It's 1 mile west of Ensemble/HCC metrorail station.

Our independent authors have visited La Colombe d'Or and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Houston.
