A shiny behemoth rises at the edge of downtown. From this glass monster hotel you can do some serious city-gazing.
Panoramic pictures of Dallas hang in the lobby, in the guest rooms, in hallways... it's easy to tell that this sprawling glass hotel is all about the views. A see-through elevator whisks you to the 28 guest floors inside an atrium. Ask for a room facing the downtown core (numbers ending in the 50s and 60s), because rooms ending in the 30s overlook an expressway (as does the unfortunate pool). Even better are the vistas from the observation deck of the adjoining 171m-high (560ft) Reunion Tower (that big ball-on-a-stick thing that defines Dallas' skyline); for a small fee you can ride to the top. The Tower bar and restaurant (two floors higher) are open in the evening. The hotel's prime location means weather-free access to train and light rail, just in case you don't want to use the complimentary in-town car service.
