The Original Wall Street – Bryce Canyon
Blog: Ottsworld - 9 November 2010
Imagine being 9 years old again, your parents are in Orlando and they are dutifully following all of the signs to Disneyworld. The excitement is building within you. Your nose is pressed against the window eagerly trying to get that first glimpse of the Magic Kingdom. You search for the blue, pointed castle tops to [...]

Photo of the Week – Zion National Park
Blog: Ottsworld - 5 November 2010
Each of the national parks in the Utah/Arizona region has a personality all of it’s own. Zion is one of my favorite parks, for it’s texture, color, and towering peaks. Unlike the Grand Canyon where most people view it from the top, Zion is viewed from the bottom. You get the feeling of walking through [...]

Finding Lodging Near Bryce Canyon – Tropic Utah
Blog: Ottsworld - 4 November 2010
Even though we were unable to hike Zion Narrows thanks to pending rain, we were still able to drive through the scenic park and capture some stunning images. The main highway through Zion, State Road 9, is worth the potential delays due to construction or traffic. The hairpin turns lead you through and park and [...]

Red Mountain Resort and Spa
Blog: Ottsworld - 21 October 2010
The sun had long since gone down and our attitudes seemed to go down with it. At 9PM we hit road construction requiring us to turn around and go another hour and a half out of the way to get to our ultimate destination, St. George Utah. We had spent a long fun-filled day of [...]

USA Road Trip Day 2: Las Vegas > Denver
Blog: Dotted Route - 27 August 2010
With our hotel room package came a ticket for the spa. So guess what I went to do first thing in the morning? I went to soak in a jacuzzi at 8am in the morning. So the spa had an attendant, showers, shaving station, hair styling station, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and pressure shower.

Digging for Fossils in Wyoming
Blog: Family Friendly Hotel, Resort, Suite Reviews: Travel Savvy Mom » blog - 7 June 2010
The town of Kemmerer, Wyoming, isn't at all easy to get to. First you fly into Salt Lake City, and then you drive three long hours across an increasingly barren landscape (with your 7 and 9-year-old kids bickering in the backseat, if you're me). By the time you roll into town, you are hungry, tired, and more than a little sick of sagebrush. You are also in the fossil fish capital of the world.

Photo of the Week – Monument Valley Utah
Blog: Ottsworld - 9 April 2010
Monumental Road – Utah, USA Spring is in the air in the US. It’s time to start thinking about summer road trips! The National Parks in the Utah/Arizona area are abundant; however I like to find some of the ones off the beaten path and Monument Valley in Utah is one of those. This Navajo Indian [...]

76-Second Travel Show: ‘US$10 luge lessons’
Blog: Lonely Planet blog - 9 February 2010
The Olympics debut this weekend in Vancouver, and — alas — so will follow the stream of luge jokes. Like this one. Hey now, if luge is good enough for Dr Evil, it should be good enough for us all. If you want to luge, here are some places to try it: Winterberg, Germany. The bobsled track [...]

Travel Solo for a Rocky Mountain High
Blog: Solo Traveler - 2 February 2010
While the focus of my trip to Utah was the Sundance Film Festival, how could I go to Park City and not go skiing. I am so glad I did. Blue skies, great snow and a skiing buddy. I'm not sure if it was the altitude but I came off the mountain higher than a kite. This is just a summary. To read the entire article, please click on the title above. The Best Pizza in Park City Is Served at a Nightclub
Blog: Travelogged - 7 January 2010
Saying that the best pizza in Park City is served at a nightclub might sound like I'm trying to insult the level of pizza available in Utah's premiere ski town.
