Lonely Planet review
This venerable inn, the only lodging on the Plaza, is not quite as upscale as you might expect – well, apart from the penthouse suite – but it certainly has charm, and the smallish, antique-furnished rooms come with kiva gas fireplaces. There’s also a unique claim to fame – the 'Forbidden Art' paintings by DH Lawrence, banned in 1929 Europe.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel La Fonda de Taos and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Taos.
