About 1000 rooms are available on the South Rim in lodges of varying quality run by Xanterra. Reservations are essential, especially in summer. Cancellations provide a few lucky visitors with last-minute rooms; call 928-638-2631 to check same-day availability. If you can’t find accommodation inside the park, try Tusayan (7 miles south), Williams (60 miles south) and Flagstaff (80 miles southeast).
