Lonely Planet review
Beside the Rim Trail between El Tovar and Bright Angel, these institutional-looking lodges, built in the late 1960s, offer standard motel-style rooms with two queen beds, full bath, flat-screen TV, Keurig coffeemaker and a refrigerator. It's worth spending up a little for the rimside rooms, some with partial canyon views.
Our independent authors have visited Kachina & Thunderbird Lodges and selected this as one of our recommended accommodation in Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim).
