Getting there & around

Greyhound (775-322-2970; 155 Stevenson St) has frequent buses to San Francisco ($33, six hours) and Los Angeles ($66, 10½ to 15 hours), and two daily to Las Vegas ($72, 18 to 20 hours). One train leaves daily for Salt Lake City ($57, 13 hours) and Denver ($117, 29 hours).

Many hotels offer free shuttles to and from the airport. The free yellow Sierra Spirit bus plies Virginia St from the University of Nevada to the river, and is a roving wi-fi hot spot.
