Lonely Planet review

Neat rows of red Spanish tiles crown this modest downtown motel just a block off the Virginia St strip. Surrounded and dwarfed by glitzy high-rise towers and mega-resort casinos, the modest four story building looks a bit humbled.

Unlike the many tumbledown and aging motels downtown, this place is much newer and pleasant. Rooms feel ample, with large stretches of decent-looking carpeting. Standard motel decor is mostly adhered to, with dark wood headboards, dressers and TV cases looking like the ones you've seen in motels time and time again. However, the frilly homespun bedspreads do seem like they belong in a teenage girl's bedroom - particularly the one with all the stuffed animals camping out on the bed. But mostly this motel is all about location. For visitors who want to gamble, and then slip away from the action at night, it's a pretty decent respite.
