Getting there & around
Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport (602-273-3300) is 3 miles southeast of downtown. Valley Metro’s Red Line operates buses from the airport to Tempe, Mesa and downtown Phoenix ($1.25).
Greyhound (602-389-4200; 2115 E Buckeye Rd) runs regular buses to Tucson ($30, two hours), Flagstaff ($27, three hours), Los Angeles ($44, seven hours) and other destinations.
Valley Metro (602-253-5000; www.valleymetro.org) operates buses ($1.25) all over the valley. On weekdays it also runs the free Flash service around the ASU area and free Dash service around downtown Phoenix. A new light rail system (602-254-7245; www.metrolightrail.org) is expected to open during 2008.
The free and frequent Scottsdale Trolley (480-421-1004; www.scottsdaletrolley.com) covers the Old Town area and runs to a number of good shopping areas. Catch it from 11am to 9pm.
