An organic vegan cafe in cheerful minimalist surroundings, it serves up rockin' baked ziti, dozens of organic teas, and a weekend brunch with filling tofu scrambles. In addition to the creative international-inspired menu, treats include vegan truffles from Cosmic Cacao, herbal elixirs (around US$7) and free wi-fi.

    Delicious, even for non-vegans

    The phrase "vegan tea room" doesn't sit well with everyone. However, Mandala does a great job of translating it into a concept anyone can digest. I took three other non-vegans here for a weekend brunch, and all found something pleasing on the menu. The breakfast foods and lunch items are well-made and flavorful -- well worth the price. The atmosphere can vary; if the music is too loud, request an outdoor table. The tea selection is wide and diverse, and the staff is knowledgeable regarding all the items on the menu. And don't forget dessert! The cakes were agreed to be the best part of the meal. For a tried & true meal, my husband & I, both BLT-lovers, recommend the West (AKA vegan BLT) with avocado on the 9-grain bread.
