    Downtown Vegas’ only movie theater may look rundown, but it sports digital THX sound and high-backed, stadium-style seating. Babies are welcome at special ‘Movies for Mom’ showings, often on Wednesday morning. Three-hour validated parking is available in the Neonopolis garage (enter off 4th St, south of Fremont St).

    Tropicana Cinemas

    One of Vegas’ only discount movie theaters, the Trop normally charges just a buck or two to see second-run films. On some weekends, ‘midnight madness’ shows feature cult classics like Dazed & Confused and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Next door is the Pinball Hall of Fame.

    Rave Motion Pictures

    Rave Motion Pictures’ 18-screen cineplex shows new Hollywood releases and a few independent titles, with state-of-the-art digital projection, Dolby surround sound and even 3-D capabilities. Stadium seating enjoys extra legroom, while 18-inch risers guarantee a less-obstructed view.

    United Artists Showcase 8

    It’s the only place to see first-run films on the Strip, which means it’s always packed. Although it’s hardly Vegas’ most modern cinema, stadium seating and digital sound bring it up to date.

    One of Nevada’s last remaining drive-ins, this old-fashioned place screens up to five double features daily. Bring your buddies, grab some popcorn and put your feet up on the dashboard – ah, heaven.
