Delux
The mirrored walls, communal table and unisex bathrooms may scream ‘trendy, ’ but deep down this is just a postmodern patty-and-bun joint. The panini and salads are also good, but we’re partial to the two-fisted Delux Burger made with Niman Ranch beef and piled high with Gruyère and blue cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onion and arugula.

Bun Huggers
After a day on the nearby mountains it's a local tradition to stop here and refuel, and it's a college-crowd favorite because of the cheap prices. Meat-lovers adore the mesquite-grilled burgers and the ice-cold beer on tap is widely appreciated, too.

Diablo Burger
The beef maestros at this gourmet burger joint are so proud of their creations they sear the DB brand onto the English-muffin bun. The cheddar-topped Blake gives a nod to New Mexico with Hatch chile mayo and roasted green chiles. Diablo uses locally produced ingredients and includes a 'terroir-ist's manifesto' on the menu. The place is tiny, four tables inside and a few bar seats (they serve microbrews, wine and milkshakes), so come early. Cash only.
