Lake View Cemetery in Seattle
Blog: Atlas Parasite - 2 September 2009
Everyone loves graveyards! Right? Probably not, unless you’re the The Addams Family. But if you put aside some of the preconceptions associated with it like death and loss, you would see beautiful gardens where time stands still, a portal to a whole new world. Poetic! What I’m trying to get at is that Western culture [...]Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)

Ride the Ducks of Seattle
Blog: Atlas Parasite - 4 August 2009
When I was living in Seattle, if I walked around downtown I would get “duck bumps” every time I heard this quacking noise from hell. Legend says it’s the souls of 1000 Peking Ducks wandering around town looking for people who ate them to… Well, not really! It’s the sound coming from the vehicles of [...]Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)

Silver Lake Resort
Blog: Atlas Parasite - 15 July 2009
I guess camping is not for everyone. I used to camp much more than I have been lately, which is not at all. But for me, one of the good things about camping, besides being out in nature, is also the return part. I mean, you spend a weekend (sometimes more) with little comfort, no [...]Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)

Seattle Public Library
Blog: Atlas Parasite - 12 July 2009
Located between Madison and 5th Avenue, the Seattle Public Library is pretty easy to distinguish. The building on its own is an interesting piece of architecture and worth going all the way around to get a good view from every corner (I think there are more than 4). But the fun starts once you get [...]Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)

Blog: Send The Bugger Back - 26 May 2009
When I arrive in the land of maples and mounties I’ve got a date with some serious shut-eye. I did just get around an hour via a power nap, which I think may qualify as my longest consecutive stretch on one of these long haul Amtrak bad boys. Annoyingly it could have been longer but [...]

The New World
Blog: Send The Bugger Back - 26 May 2009
The Experience Music Project was pretty good, mainly because upstairs they had all these interactive instruments which were basically real instruments modified to tutor you how to play. I spent hours bashing away on the drums and more working on my blues guitar solos with scales. I got my money’s worth that’s for sure. The [...]

Blog: Send The Bugger Back - 25 May 2009
I’ve awoke really early this morning and even though I’m cream crackered I can’t sleep. So here is an early morning bonus/bogus post. Who loves ya baby. The photo is a view I took in shortly after getting the number 17 bus to Ballard where my hostel is. Posted in USA [...]

Blog: Send The Bugger Back - 24 May 2009
This morning I was given a lift to the 38th Annual Northwest Folklife Festival by a nice bloke from the hostel. He is a SQL DBA (reformed from a weed dealer of 40 years after 2 and half years in the big house) so he grilled me for a bit of IIS advice with mixed results [...]

West Coast
Blog: Patrick and Katrina do the Globe - 28 May 2008
We have enjoyed our recent trips to the left coast so much that we decided to plan an action-packed Memorial Day getaway out west. Accompanying us for the trip was Patrick's brother, Riley "Carl" Foster, for his first visit out west since the time he prowled Disneyland in a stroller. Much to the delight of the brothers they were able to catch all of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals en route thanks to Jet Blue's 34 channel's of Direct TV (yes we are a walking Jet Blue ad).
