Lonely Planet review for Agua Verde Café
On the shores of Portage Bay at the southern base of University Avenue, Agua Verde Café is a little gem that overlooks the bay and serves fat tacos full of lemony cod, shellfish or portabella mushrooms, plus other Mexican favorites. There’s usually a wait for a table, but you can have a drink and wait on the deck, or order from the walkup window. You can rent kayaks in the same building, in case you want to work off your dinner.

A perfect sunny day spot to eat in Seattle

Watch (or rent) the kayaks on beautiful Lake Union with a great view of houseboats, kayakers, big boats and sea planes. Lots of seating choices: covered outdoor patio, bigger open dining room, smaller rooms off to the side or even sit outside. Amazing homemade salsas, best margaritas with the freshest ingredients. I highly recommend their mahi mahi tacos, but everything is excellent. Don't be intimidated by the long lines. It's deceiving because the entry is small and they do assembly order taking before you sit down.

Agua Verde Cafe has some good food but my advice is to arrive before getting hungry or pack a snack along because you'll wait for a table for a bit. Nothing worse then smelling good food while you have hunger pains rolling around in your stomach. Do yourself a favor and pocket a snickers for the ride.
