Right on the main drag across from Alki Beach you'll find this quaint little tradition!  It can get very crowded and parking isn't always easy, but it's worth it!

If the parking spot you eventually find is a few blocks away, a walk along Alki Beach is a fantastic experience for many reasons including the views of the majestic Seattle skyline right across the water.  Alki Beach is one of the best places to get awesome photographs of the entire city during the day or night.  Be sure to dress warm because this beach area is often chilly and windy.

Spud is in a splendid location and if seats are available, be sure to get a table upstairs by the window.  You line up and order at the counter.  Your food is trayed up and then you carry it to your table.  The food is good but a little overpriced.  They use cat fish for their most traditional fish and chips, but you can also order the same meal with cod or halibut.  They serve average tasting cole slaw and good chips (French fries) and malt vinegar to complete your meal.

They used to be known for having the best fish and chips, but their quality seems to be decreasing a bit.  It is still a great place to stop for the views and to experience a true bite of Seattle history!
