You don't really go to this revolving restaurant atop the Space Needle for the food. The view's the thing, and it is tremendous from 500ft up in the air. The elevator ride is free if you have meal reservations.

Built for the World’s Fair in 1962, the Space Needle punctuates the Seattle skyline as one of the most recognized structures in the world. Sky City, the restaurant perched atop the Needle provides glorious 360 degree views of the city and surrounding mountain ranges…that is, if you’re fortunate to visit on a clear day. The bird’s eye view is even more fascinating because the restaurant slowly revolves. The experience will move you…literally! Sitting in one spot you’re able to see the entire city and Puget Sound region as the entire restaurant slowly turns. Don’t forget your camera! My experience lunching at Sky City was very memorable as we were celebrating a birthday! Upon arriving, we appreciated the valet parking service and then were welcomed with a speedy elevator ride to the top of the Needle. The restaurant was very full and we were thankful we had made a reservation. Our handsome waiter was not only attentive, but very amusing! The food was good, but it obviously isn’t the main attraction. We ordered the cedar-wrapped salmon, a local specialty in the Pacific Northwest. The unique Lunar Orbiter dessert was very exciting and a stunning way to complete our meal. Words can’t explain this sweet dish – you’ll have to try it yourself! After enjoying our meal, we delighted over additional views from the observation deck, which is one floor above the restaurant. We climbed the stairs up, but you can also take the elevator. From this perch we were able to go outside and actually walk around the expanse at the top! It was quite cold and windy and we were thankful for our jackets! The gift shop at the base of the Needle is a wonderful place to pick up special Seattle souvenirs to remember your exhilarating experience! See you in the sky above Seattle!
