Some standard uber-modern restaurant cool is in evidence here in the bare 
brick walls, and lower-case lettering on the menu, plus the occasional goateed scenester among the clientele.  The food, location and ambience combine to make a few hours here a great way to spend an evening. 

At $9-12 each the mains are not expensive. That gives you the option to assemble an eclectic fusion version of tapas, instead of the traditional appetizer/entree/dessert. 

The excellent French Country flatbread comes with soft cheese, nicoise olives and sauteed leeks and is an excellent starter for your table. Roasted vegetables verjus and chicken laab gai (diced chicken sauteed with vegetables and herbs served in lettuce leaves) are also eminently sharable. 

Couple the food with a few pints of the local Manny's Pale Ale on tap and 
some good conversation, and you can't go wrong. 

We came down from Victoria, BC a few times last year specifically to have dinner here.
