You’ve got two weeks and the entire West Coast of the United States at your disposal. Where do you go? Start in Los Angeles and cruise the fabled Pacific Coast Highway, cross the Golden Gate into San Francisco and then work your way swiftly through a handful of national parks (Bryce, Death Valley and the Grand Canyon), sow some wild oats in Vegas, and finally work your way back to Hollywood before heading home. (Hey, we don’t call it the ‘Express’ for nothing.)


Day 1 Los Angeles
Arrive in time for an evening Welcome Meeting and optional group dinner. There are no activities planned for today.
Days 2-3 Santa Barbara
Driving north to beautiful Santa Barbara. Stop at a food truck, a local specialty, for lunch. Arrive to Santa Barbara and check out the weekly Arts and Crafts Market by the ocean. On Day 3, explore this city and surrounding area with optional surf lessons, bike rentals, kayak rentals, a vineyard tour, local microbrew tour or whale watching. Approximate Distance: 95mi/ 150km Estimated Travel Time: 2.5 hrs
Day 4 San Simeon (1L)
Drive up the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and enjoy the view. Stop along the way in Solvang and San Luis Obispo. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Pismo beach. Opt to rent a dune buggy. Approximate Distance: 135 mi/215 km Estimated Travel Time: 3 hrs
Days 5-6 Monterey
Another gorgeous drive along the PCH. Visit the elephant seals and stop for photos. Great food options abound with dinner choices including the restaurants on Steinbeck's famous Cannery Row. On Day 6, enjoy an included Surrey bike rental and options like kayaking or visiting the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. Approximate Distance: 95 mi/150 km Estimated Travel Time: 3 hrs
Days 7-9 San Francisco/Yosemite
Orientation tour of Union Square and Chinatown. Day 8 is a free day to explore. Visit the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf. Opt for an evening sunset sailing trip. In the afternoon on Day 9, drive to Yosemite National Park. Day 10 Yosemite/Bishop
Hike past Yosemite's waterfalls and amongst the giant sequoias. Travel via Tioga Pass to Bishop, viewing Mono Lake and the Tufa Towers on the way. Approximate Distance: 140mi/225 km Estimated Travel Time: 8 hrs (with stops)
Day 11 Death Valley/Las Vegas
Visit Death Valley—the hottest, driest and lowest spot on the continent. Carry on to Las Vegas and explore the famous strip. Opt for a limo tour or try your luck at the slots. Approximate Distance: 280mi/450 km Estimated Travel Time: 8 hrs (with stops)
Day 12 Grand Canyon (1D)
Hike along the rim of the Grand Canyon. Opt to take a helicopter tour. Enjoy a sunset pizza dinner at the rim. Note: If you have pre booked the Grand Canyon Helicopter Ride you will enjoy your 45-50min ride over the canyon today. Approximate Distance: 275mi/445 km Estimated Travel Time: 8 hrs (with stops)
Day 13 Laughlin
Morning at the canyon, then drive Route 66. Stop at a traditional burger joint before arriving in Laughlin. Approximate Distance: 205mi/330 km Estimated Travel Time: 4 hrs
Day 14 Los Angeles
Drive back to Los Angeles for a final night on the town. Approximate Distance: 280mi/450 km Estimated Travel Time: 5 hrs
Day 15 Los Angeles
Departure day. We recommend booking pre- or post-accommodation to fully experience this famous city.
