Lonely Planet review for Jardinière
Iron Chef champ Traci Des Jardins has a way with organic vegetables, free-range meats and sustainable seafood that's slightly naughty, topping succulent octopus with crispy pork belly, and drizzling Sonoma lavender honey over squash blossoms bursting with molten sheep's cheese. Don't miss Mondays, when $45 scores three decadent courses with wine pairings.

No more prix fixe on Mondays, food overpriced, snotty waiter
ejheffron does not recommend this,
I made a reservation at Jardiniere using OpenTable a few weeks before our arrival in San Francisco. I had read the review on Lonely Planet and was excited about the prix fixe menu on Mondays. I confirmed that Mondays were prix fixe on the Jardiniere website, and I also received two emails from OpenTable letting me know that the normal menu was not available on Mondays.
We arrived for our late reservation and we were quite excited. We were seated, and handed the normal menu. I asked about the prix fixe menu, and was told that they had stopped doing it during the holidays (this was on Monday December 13). I told the waiter that I had received emails informing me this was prix fixe night, and he said he would "see what he could do". He came back and offered to serve us from the less expensive bar menu. We went to this restaurant expecting a really lovely three course meal and wine flights, and we were offered bar snacks. This made me feel uncomfortable and cheap.
It was late so we decided to stay, and we ordered from the regular menu. All in all, we spent a fortune ($315, 3 people, one bottle of average wine) on what I consider a very average meal; it was solid, but not at all memorable. I have had way better meals, both more expensive (and worth it), and much less expensive. I can't even remember what I had, which is kind of sad for such a well reviewed restaurant.
Finally, after this experience, I sent an email to the restaurant about our experience and received no response.
In summary, I feel they did a poor job of keeping OpenTable and their existing reservations updated on menu changes, I feel they did a poor job of offering us something reasonable to make up for that (a glass of wine wood have been nice!), and then they could not be bothered to respond to my email. And on top of it all, the food wasn't that great.Good for: People with money to waste
