Lonely Planet review
Heads of state choose the Fairmont, whose magnificent lobby is decked out with crystal chandeliers, marble floors and towering yellow-marble columns. Notwithstanding the opulent Presidential suite, rooms have traditional business-class furnishings and lack finer details of top-end luxury hotels. Still, few addresses compare. For old-fashioned character, reserve the original 1906 building; for jaw-dropping views, the tower.
Our independent authors have visited The Fairmont San Francisco and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in The Hills & Japantown.
