    Lonely Planet review

A good-value hotel at Union Square, the eight-story Stratford has simple white-walled rooms with plain furnishing and occasional scuff marks – but they're clean, as are the baths which have rainfall showerheads but no bathtubs. Rooms on Powell St are loud. The elevator is s-l-o-w.

Our independent authors have visited Hotel Stratford and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Downtown & Civic Center.
