  3. SeaWorld San Diego Educates and Entertains All Ages

    Blog: Ciao Bambino! - 7 March 2012

San Diego is always a great destination for family vacations. In addition to its natural beauty with the beaches, there are a handful of excellent theme parks, like the San Diego Zoo, the Safari Park, and Legoland. However, unlike other destinations that are defined by their amusement parks, San Diego is simply enhanced by them. This last trip we explored SeaWorld; this park is always a favorite of mine as they successfully combine marine education and unique entertainment for all ages.

    Blog: Vagabond3 - 11 October 2010

I don’t know if I’ve ever told you before, but I have the coolest parents*.  They travel around the world, surfboard attached to their rental car, in search of the perfect waves. It isn’t a modern day “Endless Summer”, but pretty close!   When they were younger, before I was even thought of, they moved [...]

    Blog: Broke-Ass Stuart's Goddamn Website - 25 July 2010

Once a week we present Broke-Ass Porn.  It’s visually stimulating material for the financially impaired.  If this shit doesn’t get you going, you’re not as broke as you thought: There are few things more powerful within the mythology of the broke-ass than the burrito.  It’s a life sustaining thing.

  10. Photo Friday: San Diego Wildlife Parks

    Blog: Ciao Bambino! - 2 July 2010

The San Diego Zoo is one of the area's best-known attractions. The zoo also operates a Wild Animal Park offering an array of fantastic safari-style experiences. One of the amusing moments during our recent visit to the park was this vision of a lion sleeping on this range rover. OK, so that's not really what happens in Africa, but nonetheless, it's nice to see these animals so relaxed and comfortable in their environment.

  11. Photo Friday: Review of Legoland’s New Water Park

    Blog: Ciao Bambino! - 18 June 2010

We spent last weekend in San Diego and had the opportunity to check out the new Legoland Water Park. My favorite thing about Legoland in general is that it's so optimized for toddlers and school-aged kids. You don't have to worry about rides that are too scary (using your judgement based on your kids) and unruly teens.

I don't know about the anyone else, but I have a tendency of associating certain American cities with certain sites or attributes. Wind in Chicago, Gateway arch in St. Louis or that big-ass ball of twine in Cawker City. Whenever i thought of San Diego i though of the zoo and Shamu (who actually lived at SeaWorld).

Instead of figuring it out how to pass you on the feelings we had while driving for 800km on the Interstate-8 from San Diego leading east into Arizona, through Phoenix’s desert, continuing then north on the Black Canyon Freeway, I-17, till Sedona, we would leave those blurry pictures captured from the windshield of our quickly moving car to do the talking.
