Here's a rarity: well-prepared, good value food at a museum cafe! Homemade soups and baguette sandwiches are some of the offerings at the elegant Waters Cafe, nestled in a courtyard overlooking the sculpture garden of the San Diego Museum of Art.

    Fantastic Food in a beautiful location

    I ordered a delicious mozzarella pizza and it was delicious, a great price, service was fantastic and I sat outside in the garden with views of the beautiful architecture of Balboa Park. The cafe has self-service iced water, iced tea and coffee. As a solo backpacker this cafe was a fantastic find and would also suit families and anyone else seeking a good meal. The food really was restaurant quality. It was so good I ate there again on my 2nd day in Balboa Park, I had a blue cheese and walnut savory tart - it was delicious!
