Lonely Planet review
You'd think palm trees were native to North America given how many make up the lush tropical-with-a-dash-of-desert greenery on this paradisiacal property. While strolling past duck-populated lagoons, lily ponds, twee bridges and cushy cabanas, you'll forget that there's a worry in the world to be had.
Feel the temperate breeze off the bay. Climb the arty 81-step observation tower to get a view of treetops and beyond. Over 44 acres, get busy with sand volleyball, tennis, beach-bonfire building (pits provided), a sacred-stone massage at the spa, swimming (five pools!), eating and imbibing. For faster times, rent a bike or skates, or hell, why not a watercraft to zip through the marina? The resort's quiet 462 rooms, in one-storey bungalows, are unobtrusively tucked into foliage throughout the grounds. They have patios, the most enviable being the ones two steps from a strip of sandy beach. Rooms are ultra-clean, with yellow walls. This resort is a surreally gorgeous place to take a deep breath, away from reality.
