With a marina-side outdoor venue, Humphrey's has hosted countless performers, as varied as Cyndi Lauper, Patti LaBelle, INXS, Joe Cocker and Bill Cosby. The summer season is a primo time to stay here, even if you don't purchase concert tix, as everyone around gets to hear the show.

But Humphrey's is also a fine place, and more low-key, other times of the year. Beautified by bamboo, lush greenery, small waterfalls, koi ponds and parrots (!), the hotel grounds are a soothing place to dawdle. In the pool area, take the stress levels down a notch by taking advantage of the small bar, bubbling spa and table tennis table. The amenities and environs are the highlights, because rooms, while comfortable, are not exceptional. Standard rooms are a tad dim and may come with minor blemishes; the decor, while offensive to none, is unexciting. It's worth paying a tad more for a room with a view of the pool, marina or courtyard - views from the cheapest-level rooms are sub-standard. The suites are not only much larger than the doubles, but are also more stylish. The on-site restaurant has a (indoor) lounge hosting jazz and blues acts.
