Upgrade for Real Pirates exhibit
Don't miss the special Real Pirates exhibit, running through September 1, 2014. Learn about how pirates in 1717 captured the slave ship Whydah, which was filled with gold and silver and on its way to England. Before the pirates got to enjoy their booty, a fierce storm sunk the ship and the 143 men aboard it. Marvel at more than 200 artifacts — such as cannons, swords, coins and jewelry — found off the coast of Cape Cod in the remains of the ship, the only authenticated pirate shipwreck found in US waters.
