Children's Museum
If you've got the kids, check out the Children's Museum, which is full of excellent exhibits that allow parents to interact with their kids. A particularly well-regarded section is the kid-size grocery store, where your little consumerists can push a shopping cart of their very own while learning about food and health. In the 'Arts à la carte' section kids can get creative with crafts that they can take home - all use recycled materials.

A number of intriguing and educational exhibits can be found at Colorado History Museum, across from the Civic Center. Highlights include the 'Colorado Chronicle', a fascinating multilayered collage of sorts walking the visitor through the state's past, and an exhibit on the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers, a division of the Cheyenne Nation.

Denver Art Museum
The around US$110 -million Frederic C Hamilton wing at the Denver Art Museum , designed by Daniel Libeskind (best known for his humiliating disgrace when it came to the future World Trade Center memorial design) is at once a failure and a triumph. We won't lie: the shape of the new wing is rather torturous on the eyes. Yet at the same time this angular, fanlike edifice (which resembles the Sydney Opera House on speed) is mesmerizing.
