Port of Call
The Port of Call burger is, simply put, one of the best we’ve had, anywhere. The meat is unadulterated and, well, meaty, and the burger is enormous – a half pound that easily looks the size, and we mean this, of your face. There are a lot of other menu items, but we can’t get enough of that burger-y heaven, and neither can the locals, who willingly wait outside in long lines for a seat (no reservations).

Bina Osteria
- Boston, USA
- Restaurants › Bar
Bravo to the Bina family for opening this innovative and experimental Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown. Normally ‘Italian’ and ‘experimental’ don’t go together, but here you have the old familiar flavors in unexpected combinations, sometimes topped with unrecognizable foams and gels. Bright lighting and minimalist décor are also a welcome surprise. If you’re curious, come for the Tasting Tuesdays, featuring five cocktails for $15.

Bin 26 Enoteca
- Boston, USA
- Restaurants › Bar
If you are into your wine, you’ll be into the bin. With big windows overlooking Charles St and wine bottles lining the walls, the interior is decidedly minimalist. The extensive wine list includes some fancy bottles that are out of most people’s price range, as well as a moderately priced house wine that is bottled in Italy just for the restaurant. The food is seasonal and simple, focusing on antipasti, cheese, charcuterie and pasta.

D
South Side
Local athletes, blue-collar electricians and everyone in between pile into this sleek Tremont establishment to drink at the winding granite bar. They come for the food too, like the grouper sandwich, veggie reuben, Kobe burger and chicken and waffles (brunch only).

E
Chinatown Brasserie
The dining areas are huge and sprawling and marked by pagoda decor and hanging Chinese lanterns, and diners can nosh for hours on the dim sum delights. The bar is just as beautiful (and much less taxing on wallet and patience), and the crowd is eclectic and fun.

GiGi’s
Beneath this tavern’s soaring 24ft ceilings are a huge stage, two bars and a whole lot of lacquered, chocolate paneling that can’t decide if it’s vintage or modern. Great oyster bar – plus several tasty chicken, steak and seafood options.
