Lonely Planet review for Maoz Vegetarian
This tiny storefront, actually an outpost of a chain from Amsterdam, is always packed with healthy hipsters wanting in on the cheap, fresh falafel sandwiches, which you can pile high with marinated veggies, toppings and sauces.

A Secret: Go late at night...
adinaklein recommends this,
For an authentic tastebud tantalizing falafel, this chain is just "kacha, kacha" -- "so, so"-- as Israelis would say. I went once when taking a dinner break on a weekend that I had to put in extra hours at work, and was left feeling high and dry, not up to conquering several hours of more work. But for a late night bite? A+. After a night of drinking, dancing and merrymaking in South Philly, grabbing a falafel sandwich on South Street hit the spot like nothing else. I had to pace myself to avoid dribbling tahini and spilling Israeli salad all over my lap. You can choose from several meal options, which include different combinations of falafel, salad, Belgian fries and a drink. But, don't JUST order the salad; if you're going to go to a falafel place, do it up right and order the pita-filled falafel. And make sure to ask for creamy hummus to be spread on the interior sides of the pita, or your sandwich is incomplete. And at this point, your sandwich still has a void that must be filled, so embellish it with one or many salads from the colorful cornucopia of choices. And pile the salads on. Really pile them on -- not just out of being a cheapo and trying to get the best bang for your buck, but because more toppings means more gastronomic satisfaction.
