Deschutes Brewery
The Portland branch of this Bend brewery offers the same great beers, only on a larger scale. The stuff is brewed here, too, which makes pints at the bar extra fresh and tasty – or grab a table under the carved-wood arches framing the restaurant area.

Hair of the Dog Brewing
Beer geeks rejoiced when this brewery finally opened its first pub in 2010. The new digs house brewing operations and a spacious tasting room within sight of the downtown skyline. HOTD brews special beers, some of which are 'bottle-conditioned' (the brewing cycle is finished inside the bottle), which results in complex flavors and high alcohol contents.

Tugboat Brewery
Dive-bar-ish and, well, different, the Tugboat is on the periphery of the shabby Old Town and has an English front parlor feel to its small interior lined with bookshelves and jovial locals.

Lucky Labrador Brewing Company
Hawthorne Pearl District The name's no joke. Dogs are welcome at this mild-mannered and mild-beer-ed pub; there's even a dog-friendly back patio at the Hawthorne branch where movies are shown in summer.

All organic beers served in an eco-styled building with bicycle frames above the bar.

Amnesia Brewing
At the ReBuilding Center, this is hip Mississippi St's brewery, with a casual feel and picnic tables out front. For excellent (and despite the name, memorable) beer, try the Desolation IPA. Other good drops are Amnesia Brown or Wonka Porter. An outdoor grill offers burgers and sausages, and there's live music on weekends.
