True Blue – Crater Lake National Park, Oregon
Blog: Trans-Americas Journey - 24 May 2012
Founded on May 22, 1902, Crater Lake National Park in Oregon was the sixth national park established in the United States. It’s also about to fully open for its brief but beautiful spring/summer season. If you want to fully appreciate one of the bluest and deepest lakes on earth, start planning your visit now. However, it wasn’t until we arrived at the park’s Rim Village and looked down into the caldera that the full drama of the place finally hit us: it’s the blue.

I Choo Choo Choose You: The Joys of Traveling by Train
Blog: Broke-Ass Stuart's Goddamn Website - 12 July 2011
Summertime is Adventuretime and coincidentally, like Heidi, I have found myself in Portland. And I got here by the most delightful way, the train. (From Seattle after a plane ride from SF). I love the train, and it holds a very special place in my heart much like the US Postal system.

Portland: A Budget Foodie’s Heaven on Earth
Blog: Twenty-Something Travel - 28 November 2010
I haven’t been to Oregon since I was a little kid, but this article just intensifies my suspicion that I need to get myself back there. Portland, Oregon, is a town known for its immensely reasonably standard of living. I’ve officially moved there three times over the past 10 years, but each time I move, [...]

On the Road Again
Blog: thebeergeek.com - 24 July 2010
We were excited to return to Portland for our ninth Oregon Brewers Festival. But with two previous beergeek.TV episodes covering the West Coast’s best beer fest, we needed to do something different. After much thought, we decided a road trip to Portland would be new and exciting. At noon, I picked Merideth up at work [...]

Eugene Oregon and the Best Accident
Blog: Abandon the Cube - 26 April 2010
We packed up the minivan and decided to head south to see two longtime friends and adventurous souls who live in Eugene, OR. The drive was pleasant down ol’ I-5, and we arrived made great time without incident until we got to the lovely and illogically grid-like, one-way nightmare of downtown Eugene.

Back Home Again... After a Long Drive
Blog: Brewster House News - 1 April 2010
From our earlier posts, most guests and readers know that we took a long vacation to attend the Professional Association of Innkeepers (PAII) annual conference in Texas and drive across the country to visit family and friends. We arrived home safely two days ago, and thought we would post an outline of our travels, for those who are curious (or care to travel vicariously).

A Port of Call
Blog: Joe's Trippin' - 16 March 2010
Being 125 kms from the ocean, one would hardly expect a city to be a major port. Portland's name is a bit of a misnomer as it was a rumoured winner of a coin toss. It could have very well been named Boston! A progressive "green" attitude is fueled by it's relatively young population.
