Museum of Sex

An intriguing house of culture, the Museum of Sex (‘Mosex’ for short) traces the interwoven history of NYC and sex, from tittie bars and porn to street hustling and burlesque shows, and features exhibits that explore all sorts of other related subjects – including people’s homemade copulation machines, patent applications for various sex-related inventions, artifacts like vintage blow-up dolls and peep-show coins, and lascivious documentary photography collections. Don’t expect any sex parties or naked go-go dancers – though various folks do take the stage from time to time for presentations including erotica readings, one-person shows and sex-ed seminars.
