Lonely Planet review for Cable Building
NoHo’s Beaux Arts Cable Building was built by famed architects McKim, Mead and White in 1894. Originally used as the power plant for the Broadway Cable Car (the nation’s first), it features an oval window and caryatids on its Broadway facade. Today it houses the Angelika Film Center, a massive Crate & Barrel store and various offices.
