‘Making scents of New York’ is the motto of this thoroughly unique perfume boutique, where the gimmick is everything NYC. Each bottle of home-brewed potion (prices begin at about $100) not only comes labeled with a trademark round label inspired by an old New York subway token, it gets filled with one of 20 fragrances that are named after and inspired by local nabes. There’s Riverside Drive, Madison Soirée, Central Park, Nuits de Noho and Chinatown, none of which smells like wet pavement, exhaust fumes or simmering hot dogs.
