New York City

Pan Latin restaurants in New York City

  1. A

    Pedro's Restaurant

Pedro's battered facade doesn't instill confidence, but aesthetics aside, it's one heckuva' place. It's been serving up tasty tacos and burritos with ice-cold beer for years and has a loyal following. Sitting outside on its strange-shaped stools certainly adds to the fun.

  2. B

    Boca Chica

A perennial favorite, this busy, low-ceilinged East Village eatery fills up fast every night of the week. The restaurant doesn't take reservations but people happily queue up for the killer mojitos and rich Latin dishes like ropa vieja, deep-fried coconut shrimp and steaming rice and beans.

  3. C

    Yerba Buena

One of the newest additions to ever-evolving Ave A is this shrine to Latin flavors, where chef Julian Medina pays homage to Cuba, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Peru in his bustling open kitchen. Some standouts include Peruvian shrimp soup, sweet plantains with truffle cream, Baja-style fish tacos and Brazilian paella with shrimp, clams and crawfish. The cocktails are taken just as seriously as the food (to wit: the Jamaica 107, whiskey-infused hibiscus tea with an organic egg white and lemon juice), and so is the design, which works brightly colored back-lighting, nostalgic Cuba images and warm-wood and brick touches.
