Lonely Planet review for Babbo

Celebrity chef Mario Batali has multiple restaurants in Manhattan, but everyone has a sneaking suspicion that this two-level split townhouse is his favorite. Whether you order mint love letters, lamb's brain francobolli (small, stuffed ravioli) or pig's foot milanese, you'll find Batali at the top of his innovative, eclectic game. Reservations are in order.

    Still got it.

    stephenmblank recommends this,

Babbo is hardly the new kid on the block, but try tellign that to the hordes of loyal fans clamoring nightly to score one of the coveted tables. Despite it's age, the restaurant manages to retain a factor of chic without being pompous or stuffy and the restaurant refuses to take itself too seriously, as seen/heard by the sound track of rock music. The food remains fantastic and the prices, considering the quality of dining experience, is a bargain. If you have trouble getting a reservation, know that the restaurant keeps a handful of tables open for walk-ins. If you go at 5/6 or after 10, you should have no problem finding a seat.
