Lonely Planet review for Shake Shack
To the delight of moms, pops and kids all over the Upper West Side, organic eats guru Danny Meyer brought the Shake Shack to their 'hood. The burger stand has sundaes, shakes, thick, fresh burgers and crispy curly fries just like the original in Madison Sq Park.

Popular for a reason

I wish the lines weren't so long, but they're long for a reason. Shake Shack is so often talked up, people go out of their way to find things to complain about. But the reality is that Shake Shack burgers are simply delicious. I get angry at them for being so tasty. Stupid burger, why are you so good?
It goes well beyond the burger. The shroom burger (filled with cheese and fried and then treated like a standard burger) is good enough to make a meat-lover think long and hard before ordering. The shakes/concretes are rich and delicious and the daily rotating flavors are always creative (although not always what you want). As a root beer fan, the fact that they feature Abita root beer on tap goes a long way towards making me a happy customer.
