Clear the Gauloise smoke from your eyes and blink twice if you think you're in Paris – Gitane has that louche vibe. Label-conscious shoppers love this authentic bistro, with its dark, aromatic coffee and dishes such as yellowfin tuna seviche, spicy meatballs in tomato turmeric sauce with a boiled egg, Greek salad on focaccia and heart-of-palm salad, with plenty of lusty wines.
