Lonely Planet review for S’Mac

If you're only going to do one thing, you've got to do it well – and S'Mac hits the spot with mac 'n' cheese lovers. The all-American has cheddar and Vermont jack cheese, with bacon if you like. Or, try the Gruyère mac 'n' cheese and the Manchego cheese and Cajun macs.

    S'mac: An aptly named addiction!

    benbrundage recommends this,

My first visit to S'mac had me practically foaming at the mouth. Decorated like a modern mac heaven, S'mac's exposed brick, clean wood trim, and orange, yellow, and red to boot smack you with cheese. It's like walking into adorably dorky fairy tale, but instead of a Gingerbread house hidden away in an enchanted forest it is a small East Village eatery. Immediately, you need a fix. I mean, this relatively new East Village institution is a veritable visceral vex in the best possible way! With gourmet Mac's like the nostalgic All-American, the meat lover's Cheeseburger, the Garden Lite (for all the herbivores among us), and the eclectic and food-coma inducing Masala, Sarita's Macaroni and Cheese leaves every taste bud in a childlike euphoria. With your first bite, your cares, your worries, your problems all melt away like molten cheddar and the world around you dissolves. You sink deeper and deeper into an affordable ocean of S'mactasy. And it is good. So good. And you wish it could last forever. But then you wake, and you want more. More. MORE. You're fiending! You can't fight it. You would live there if you could. The S'mac has you and there's no going back. You are an addict. A S'mac addict. And your world is much brighter for it.

    Hits the spot

    justine24 recommends this,

On a weeknight it is hard to squeeze your way through the door at S'Mac as East Villagers, waiting for a quick and easy after work dinner, pack the tiny fast food eatery. Being a Coeliac, it was the excellent Gluten Free options that attracted me to S'Mac, which turns a basic Mac and Cheese into a gourmet meal with great added extras and a huge variety of cheeses.

On busy nights you may be waiting a while, but it's well worth it!
