An attraction in itself, the 416-room, 42-floor legendary hotel is an art deco landmark. It’s massive, occupying a full city block – with 13 conference rooms, and shops and eateries keeping the ground floor buzzing with life. Elegant rooms conjure some old-world fussiness, with rose petal rugs and embossed floral wallpaper. Staff tell us three-quarters of daily visitors come just to look. Plenty to gawk at: the Wheel of Life mosaic tile entry (at the Park Ave entrance) features nearly 150,000 tiles.
