Lonely Planet review
Fronted by a classic red-and-gold awning, this long-time spot channels a 1930s feel – starting with the vintage elevator. As with many old-timey New York spots, the rooms and bathrooms are tiny. But the decor is modern, the staff congenial and the location couldn’t be more ideal – walking distance from Central Park and many museums.
In addition, wine and cheese are served in the evenings. Rooms facing the back are quieter.
Our independent authors have visited The Franklin Hotel and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Upper East Side.
