Lonely Planet review for Carnegie Hall

One of the world's most celebrated music halls, Carnegie's not the biggest, nor the grandest, but definitely one of the most acoustically blessed venues you'll find. Its soaring space still leaves you feeling intimately acquainted with the performers, who can range from jazz greats to opera stars to folk singers like Cesaria Evora.

How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

    remelila recommends this,

(Well, you take the N/R to 57th St, or the crosstown bus to 7th Ave, of course.)

One of the oldest, and still one of the best -- the grande dame of New York concert halls. Music lovers will swoon at the calendar: most of the season is for classical, choral, etc, but they get all sorts of eclectic acts in, from pop classics like James Taylor and Art Garfunkel to jazz pianist Brad Mehldau.
