An odd interloper in the Chinatown scene, Whiskey Tavern nevertheless has earned many fans for its uberfriendly bartenders, casual ambience free of pretension, reasonably priced drinks and outdoor rear patio in warm weather. There’s a selection of snacks on hand and, true-to-name, a fine assortment of amber-hued elixirs, ranging from $5 for the cheap stuff to $34 for the rare single malts. Invest in a few and you’re likely to earn a round of shots, perhaps with a chaser of pickle juice.
