The Room is actually two modest rooms, both low-lit, with candles flickering against the exposed brick walls sprinkled with photographs and a low-key crowd chatting each other up over drinks – which here means wine (two dozen different types) or beer (over 70 varieties). If you arrive early enough, you can slink into one of the velvet couches or cushy armchairs and watch the world stride past as soft-edged indie-rock plays overhead.
