Om Yoga Center
This inviting space – with redwood floors, high ceilings and showers – has popular vinyasa classes run by former dancer (and choreographer of videos such as ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’) Cyndi Lee, a practitioner of hatha yoga and Tibetan Buddhism. Classes are run for all levels; an hour-long ‘yoga express’ is $12.

Jivamukti
The yoga spot in Manhattan, Jivamukti – in a 12,000-sq-ft locale on Union Sq – is a posh place for vinyasa and hatha classes (chanting alert). You can study Sanskrit if you’re ready to get serious; Uma’s little bro Dechen Thurman teaches classes, too.
